ASTM/AISI specification classifies chromium hot work tool steels as group H steels, ranging from H10, H11, H12 to H19. AISI H10 tool steel is one of chromium hot working tool steels.
Steel Grade | C | Si | Mn | P | S | Cr | Ni | Cu | Mo | V |
H10 | 0.35-0.45 | 0.80-1.20 | 0.25-0.70 | ≤0.030 | ≤0.030 | 3.00-3.75 | ≤0.30 | ≤0.25 | 2.00-3.00 | 0.25-0.75 |
Hot punch, hot forging die, hot shear blade, hot extrusion die
It has excellent resistance to softening at high temperature.
The steel can be heat treated with higher hardness than tungsten hot work steel, and has higher toughness.
The steel has good thermal fatigue resistance, and unlike tungsten hot-worked steel, H10 can be safely water-cooled during use.
