3Cr2Mo is a steel grade converted from P20 of AISI specification in the United States, and the only plastic mold steel formally included in the standard GB/T 1299-85 (Technical Conditions for Alloy Tool Steels). It is universal pre-hardened plastic mold steel, widely used in various countries. Mechanical processing can be made after quenching and tempering.
Steel Grade | C | Si | Mn | P | S | Cr | Mo |
3Cr2Mo | 0.28-0.40 | 0.20-0.80 | 0.60-1.00 | ≤0.030 | ≤0.030 | 1.40-2.00 | 0.30-0.55 |
The 3Cr2Mo steel has good hardenability and certain toughness.
Carburization can be made, and the surface hardness of this plastic mould steel reaches 65HRC after carburizing and quenching.
This mould steel material has high thermal hardness and wears resistance.
3Cr2Mo steel can be directly polished and assembled after being processed into shape because pre-hardened treatment has been made in the delivery state.
3Cr2Mo steel can be used to make large injection molds or extrusion molds instead of traditional #45 steel.
3Cr2Mo steel is suitable for making large plastic molds such as cabinets of TV and large recorders, and panel covers for washing machines. Its processing and polishing performance is significantly better than that of #45 steel. Under the same polishing conditions, its surface roughness is lower than that of #45 steel 1 ~3 levels.
Suitable for compression molds.
Suitable for corrosion-resistant, high-precision molds.
